Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are excited to inform you about an upcoming educational trip to the Imperial War Museum in Duxford, which will take place on 28th May 2024. This visit is a wonderful opportunity for our students to immerse themselves in the rich history of aviation and warfare, complementing our curriculum and bringing their studies to life.

We will be travelling by coach, leaving school at 8.00am and arriving back around 3.00pm.

The Imperial War Museum in Duxford is renowned for its extensive collection of aircraft and military vehicles, as well as its engaging exhibitions that cover significant events from both World Wars and beyond. This visit aims to:

– Enhance students’ understanding of historical events and their impact.
– Provide a hands-on learning experience through interactive exhibits and displays.
– Inspire interest in history, technology, and engineering.

Students will need to bring:

– A packed lunch and snacks (please avoid nuts due to allergies).
– A refillable water bottle.
– Comfortable clothing and footwear suitable for walking.
– A coat or jacket, depending on the weather forecast.

Cost and Payment:

The cost of the trip is £11, which covers transportation, entrance fees, and participation in the museum’s educational workshops. Payment can be made via MCAS, and we kindly ask that you complete the form by 15th May 2024.

The trip will be supervised by members of our teaching staff, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all students. We will conduct a thorough risk assessment prior to the trip and adhere to all necessary health and safety guidelines.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are excited to announce the launch of our new Afterschool Homework Club at Henley Gate, designed to support our Year 7 students in their academic journey and provide a productive environment for completing homework.

The Homework Club will run every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM in the school library. It will be supervised by our experienced teaching staff who will be available to assist students with their homework, offer guidance on challenging subjects, and help develop effective study habits. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to receive additional academic support and work collaboratively with their peers.

We believe that the Homework Club will greatly benefit our students by reinforcing classroom learning, improving their understanding of various subjects, and enhancing their overall academic performance. It is also an excellent opportunity for students to build positive relationships with their teachers and peers in a supportive setting.

Who Can Audition?

– All students from Year 7 to Year 11 are welcome to audition. Whether you’re an experienced actor or a first-time performer, we encourage you to try out for a part

What to Prepare:

Acting: Be ready to perform a short monologue (1-2 minutes) that showcases your acting skills. You may also be asked to do a cold reading from the script.

Singing: Prepare a song from the musical or a song of your choice that highlights your vocal range. Bring sheet music if you need piano accompaniment.

Dancing: Wear comfortable clothes and shoes, as there will be a short dance audition to assess your movement skills.

This is an incredible opportunity to be part of a fun, energetic, and memorable production. Whether you’re aiming for a lead role, a supporting character, or a place in the ensemble, we want to see your talent shine!
